There are two schools in the village, Hartlebury Church of England Primary School
which takes pupils from pre-school age until 11 years and the New Elizabethan School,
a private institution, taking pupils from 4 years to 16+. This small school is situated
in the buildings which once housed the historic Queen Elizabeth Grammar School. There
is evidence that there was a school here in the Domesday Survey and a charter was
granted by Queen Elizabeth 1st in 1557. There is a thriving Hartlebury Old Elizabethans
Association which has an extensive archive and which meets on an annual basis, holding
a dinner in the school hall.
